Friends and family have confirmed that Patrick Forseth was the Canadian pilot killed in a plane crash in Honduras on Saturday along with four American passengers.

In an email, Global Affairs Canada confirmed one Canadian citizen had been killed in the crash.

Earl strengthened into a hurricane Wednesday and roared toward a nighttime landfall in the Caribbean nation of Belize as it brushed by Honduras, leaving felled trees and power lines in its wake.
