Queen Elizabeth viewed a socially-distanced military ceremony at Windsor Castle to mark her official birthday on Saturday, after the coronavirus pandemic forced cancellation of the usual large parade of soldiers through central London.

In what was only the fifth televised address of her 68-year reign, Elizabeth called upon Britons and the Commonwealth to show the resolve of their forbears and demonstrate they were as strong as generations of the past.

The message comes days after the Queen announced a number of changes to her personal schedule during the COVID-19 outbreak.
