Earlier this year, the BC Cattlemen's Association said some farmers were being forced to sell their animals early, or cull them, due to a shortage of hay and an increase in costs. 

Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes and Delta South MLA Ian Paton have written a joint letter urging the NDP government to make moves to help the animal-care industry.
