The female black bear, who's now three and a half years old, was photographed just three kilometres from where the cubs were released back into the wild in July 2018.

The cubs were found on April 1, 2017, at the west washroom at the Vermilion Lakes pull-off, about three kilometres west of the western entrance to the town of Banff off the Trans-Canada Highway.

A few incidents in the last year have made it clear that something is awry with Alberta’s wildlife management policy.
