In 2008, the then-Liberal government began employing nurses at Ontario hospitals to help unload ambulances and get paramedics back on the road faster. Now, the program has grown.

He says offload delays of one to two hours were previously considered extreme, but now it's "not unusual" for patients and paramedics to wait 10 to 15 hours.
