Political leaders in St. Thomas say they were sitting on pins and needles waiting for Volkswagen to announce if the area would be selected for an electric vehicle battery factory.

Volkswagen has announced it plans to build an electric vehicle battery plant in St. Thomas, in southwestern Ontario.
