An RCMP officer pulled over to see if the driver of a car in the ditch needed assistance when they were suddenly attacked by three suspects, ASIRT said.

ASIRT is investigating a confrontation west of Red Deer, which resulted in an RCMP officer firing his gun before his vehicle was allegedly stolen by three men.
