"I think what endeared a lot of people to him was he gave so much to the community and to everyone, and he never really asked for anything back," said Hall's best friend, David Koski.

Hall was a co-owner of Peterborough's The Twisted Wheel, which opened last May, as well as the founder of The Hootenanny on Hunter Street, a popular music street festival.
