Sixteen of the camera-equipped sensor packages have been deployed on two coasts as part of a pilot project with the Canadian Coast Guard that could improve maritime safety.

This wave was recorded by one of MarineLabs' sensor buoys, which is located at Amphitrite Bank, approximately seven kilometers offshore of Ucluelet, B.C.
