Amazon laid off 18,000 staff, Microsoft fired 10,000 employees and WeWork axed 300 jobs. In Canada, layoffs included 300 at Lightspeed, 150 at Clutch and 70 at Hootsuite.

Amazon will cut some jobs in the United States, Canada and Costa Rica by the end of Wednesday as part of its plan to lay off 18,000 employees.
