Ontario's ombudsman says a backlog of cases at the Landlord and Tenant Board has grown and it's taking an average of 7 or 8 months for a hearing to be scheduled.

Bill 184, if passed, would provide a number of new avenues for landlords to both evict and collect unpaid rent from current and past tenants.
