Jordin Amber Aksidan, 21, was shot around 5 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 inside an apartment near 119 Avenue and 34 Street in the Beverly area.

One day after a police presence was seen outside the northeast Edmonton apartment suite where a woman who was shot to death was found earlier this week, police told Global News officers were there to respond to an assault.

There was a significant police presence in northeast Edmonton Wednesday morning after a woman's suspicious death in the Beverly neighbourhood.
