Family and friends gathered to honour the late Winnipeg Liberal MP Jim Carr at his memorial held in the same concert hall where he once played with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

Jim Carr's death was announced in the House of Commons on Monday by Winnipeg North MP Kevin Lamoureux, who asked the House for a moment of silence before question period.
