Each side has 24 hours over three days to present their case. After the House prosecutors finish Friday, the president’s lawyers will follow.

The vote moves the matter to the full House for action next week – on the cusp of the holidays.

Democrats say Hope Hicks is stonewalling all of their questions about her time in the Trump White House, despite agreeing to an interview.

In a letter to Jerrold Nadler, Hicks' lawyer, Robert Trout, said they would provide documents from her time on the Trump campaign, and said she had also previously provided some documents in March, after Nadler sent out his original requests for information.

The panel will hear from McGahn “one way or another,” House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler said.

Rep. Jerry Nadler, who's expected to chair the House Judiciary Committee in January, says it's unclear whether that alone would justify Congress launching impeachment proceedings.
