Rogers Place and the surrounding Ice District didn't get any provincial government funding a decade ago and some are calling into question the timing of Calgary’s announcement.

Ice District Phase 2 would involve 12 towers: three on the site of the old Baccarat Casino and nine in the area between 105 and 106 Avenues and 101 and 105 Streets.
