On Tuesday, the union had served notice that it planned to strike at 8 a.m. Saturday after bargaining broke down.

Police say a 38-year old man was stabbed outside the Empress Street Walmart Tuesday. The victim is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene.
