Two people trapped inside a burning home in Canmore were saved by firefighters on Thursday.

Investigators have determined that a fire at the Mount Royal Hotel in Banff was sparked when a propane torch came into contact with combustible materials.

The fire chief in Banff said 256 guests were evacuated and relocated to other hotels. No one was injured in the ordeal.
