Canadians lost a whopping $530 million in 2022 to fraud and cybercrime, with $24 million in crypto-scam losses taking place in B.C. alone. Police offer tips to help prevent more.

Ontario's Serious Fraud Office says the scheme started in 2012 in Barrie, Ont., and that more than 500 known victims suffered losses of more than $24 million.
