Calgary police say they’ve seen a spike in the number of garage and home break-ins in the communities of Cityscape, Mount Pleasant, Hillhurst and Sunnyside.

A fire that sparked in northeast Calgary on Wednesday gutted one home and caused substantial damage to two others.
