A Catholic university that cancelled a screening of a documentary about abortion receives millions of dollars in public money each year but Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is staying silent on whether he would strip funding from the school if elected prime minister.

A Catholic university in Ottawa cancelled a contracted screening of an award-winning documentary about a doctor who provides abortions at sea, telling organizers two days before the screening that they could either change the film or go somewhere else. 

The Conservative politician said the issue is of growing concern across the political spectrum.
