The following are the rules (“Rules”) for the Vancouver International Auto Show Contest – Finalist Spot Contest (the “Contest”) being administered by Shaw Television Limited Partnership (“Shaw”).


To be eligible for the Contest, entrants must:

(i) be legal residents of the province of British Columbia;
(ii) be the age of majority or older at the time of entry in the province of British Columbia; and
(iii) hold a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain automobile insurance pursuant to applicable laws.

Employees of Shaw, the New Car Dealers Association of BC, General Motors Dealers Canada., Royal Bank of Canada, Black Press and Corus Entertainment Inc., each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, and the household members of any of the above, are not eligible to participate in the Contest.


The Contest shall run from Monday, March 21, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. PT to Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 11:59:59 p.m. PT (the “Contest Period”) after which time no further entries will be considered.


NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter, entrants must visit (the “Contest Website”) and complete and submit a Contest entry form. No entries will be accepted by any other means.

Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the entry. For the purposes of these Rules, “authorized account holder” of an e-mail address is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.


The selected entrant (the “Shaw Finalist”) will receive one (1) entry into the prize draw for the Vancouver International Auto Show Contest (the “Auto Show Contest”) where the Shaw Finalist shall have a one (1) in four (4) chance to win a 2016 Chevrolet Volt vehicle, with an approximate value of forty-five thousand Canadian dollars (CDN $45,000) (the “Auto Show Contest Prize”). The Auto Show Contest will be solely administered by the Vancouver International Auto Show and/or their agent, Laura Ballance. The Shaw Finalist Spot is not transferable, will not be extended under any circumstances and must be accepted as offered without substitution.

Shaw shall not assume any liability for participation in the Auto Show Show Contest or for the acceptance of the Auto Show Contest Prize.


Upon completion of the Contest Period, a Shaw representative shall randomly draw one (1) entrant from all eligible entrants received during the Contest Period as the potential Shaw Finalist. The selected entrant will be notified by telephone or e-mail no later than 5:00 p.m. PT on Monday, March 28, 2016 and must respond to the notification within twenty-four (24) hours. If a selected entrant does not respond within the prescribed timeline, he/she will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected from the pool of eligible entries. Before being declared the Shaw Finalist, the selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by telephone or e-mail and must comply with these Rules. The odds of being selected as the Shaw Finalist are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Shaw shall be in no way responsible for the failure, for any reason whatsoever, of a selected entrant to receive notification or for Shaw’s failure to receive a selected entrant’s response.


By entering the Contest, each entrant releases and holds Shaw harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from: (i) their the participation in the Contest and/or the Auto Show Contest; (ii), their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Auto Show Prize; (iii) their participation in any Auto Show Prize-related activity, including participation as a Shaw Finalist in the draw for the Auto Show Contest Prize; (iv) any breach of the Rules; and (v) the acceptance and/or use of the Auto Show Contest Prize, if applicable. Each entrant agrees to fully indemnify Shaw from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation.


By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of Shaw in selecting the Shaw Finalist, such decisions shall be final and binding upon all entrants. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification. Shaw reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or these Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice. For the purposes of the Contest and the awarding of the prize, these Rules shall govern in all respects. Interpretation of these Rules and the decisions of any Shaw representatives shall be final.

Personal information collected during the course of the Contest shall be used by Shaw and its authorized representatives solely for the purposes of conducting the Contest and selecting the Shaw Finalist, and will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose unless required by law. Shaw will use the entrant’s personal information only for identified purposes, and protect the entrant’s Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with Shaw’s Privacy Policy at:

By participating in the Contest, the Shaw Finalist agrees that:

(i) his/her name and contact information shall be provided to the Vancouver International Auto Show and/or their agent, Laura Balance, for the sole purpose of administering the Auto Show Contest and selecting the winner of the Auto Show Contest; and
(ii) his/her name may be used in any and all forms of media, without any further compensation by Shaw and waives all rights (including moral rights) with respect to printed, broadcast and other forms of publicity.

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social media platforms on which the Contest may have been advertised.

The Contest is subject to all applicable laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
