Toronto Black Film Festival Contest Rules & Regulations
The following are the rules (“Rules”) for the Toronto Black Film Festival contest (the “Contest”) being administered by Shaw Television Limited Partnership (“Shaw”).
RULE 1. HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To be eligible for this Contest, entrants must be legal residents of the province of Ontario, be of the age of majority or older at the time of entry in their province or territory of residence and be able to participate in the prize on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. To enter, entrants must go to www.globalnews.ca/toronto and complete and submit a Contest entry form. The Contest shall run between Monday, February 3, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. EST and Friday, February 7, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. EST, (the “Contest Period”) after which time no entries will be included in the random draw.
RULE 2. SELECTION OF WINNER
Upon completion of the Contest Period, a Shaw representative shall randomly draw twenty five (25) entries from all eligible entrants received during the Contest Period. Each selected entrant will be notified by e-mail within two (2) business days after the end of the Contest Period. The selected entrant must respond to the notification within one (1) business days. If a selected entrant does not respond within one (1) business day of being notified, he/she will be disqualified and another entry will be randomly selected from the pool of eligible entries. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by e-mail. This process shall continue until twenty five (25) entrants have been selected, and satisfied in full, the terms of these Rules. The odds of being selected as a winner are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Winner’s name will be added to guest list at the theatre once winner has been successfully contacted and fulfilled the requirements set out herein. No hard tickets will be made available. For the purposes of this Contest and the awarding of the prize, these Rules shall govern in all respects and the decision of any Shaw representative shall be final. Shaw shall be in no way responsible for the failure, for any reason whatsoever, of a selected entrant to receive notification or for Shaw’s failure to receive a selected entrant’s response.
RULE 3. PRIZES
There are twenty five (25) prizes available to be won, (each a “Prize”, collectively “Prizes”) consisting of a pair of tickets to the opening night screening of the movie “The Forgotten Kingdom” playing at 7:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at the Isabel Bader Theatre located at 93 Charles St. W., Toronto, ON.
The approximate value of each Prize is thirty dollars (CDN $30.00). Shaw reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a Prize or any part thereof cannot be awarded for any reason. The Prize is not transferable and not redeemable for cash, will not be extended under any circumstances and must be accepted as offered without substitution. Shaw shall not assume any liability for lost, damaged or misdirected Prizes.
RULE 4.GENERAL
By participating in this Contest, you agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of Shaw in awarding the Prizes, which decisions shall be final and binding upon all entrants. Entrants who have not complied with these Rules are subject to disqualification. Shaw reserves the right to modify the Rules, before or during the Contest, in its sole discretion, in any way at any time it deems necessary or appropriate without materially affecting the terms and conditions of this Contest. Interpretation of these Contest rules by Shaw shall be final.
Winners and guests must at all times behave appropriately when taking part in the Prize and observe the Contest Rules and any other rules or regulations in force at the theatre. Shaw reserves the right to remove from the theatre, any Winner and/or guest who breaks such rules and/or fails to behave appropriately and to disqualify such Winner and/or guest.
Personal information collected during the course of this Contest shall be used by Shaw and its authorized representatives solely for the purposes of conducting the Contest and awarding Prizes, and in a manner that is consistent with Shaw’s Privacy Policy at: www.shawmedia.ca/privacy.asp.
Employees of Shaw and its affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies and the household members of any of the above, are not eligible to participate in this Contest.
By participating in this Contest, the winners agree that his/her name may be used in any and all forms of media, without any further compensation by Shaw and waives all rights (including moral rights) with respect to printed, broadcast and other forms of publicity.
In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
Notwithstanding the defined Contest Period, Shaw reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or part, and/or modify, amend or suspend the Contest, and/or these Rules in any way, at any time, for any reason without prior notice. Interpretation of these Contest Rules by Shaw shall be final.
The Contest is subject to all applicable laws of the province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
