ALS Walk Strong

Join Us for the ALS Walk Strong Event – A Step Forward in the Fight Against
ALS

The ALS Society of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia is proud to be once again
partnering with Global News to promote the ALS Walk Strong event, a pivotal fundraiser
aimed at making a significant difference in the lives of those affected by ALS in our local
community.

The ALS Walk Strong event is more than just walks; it is a communal effort towards
helping people with ALS and their families live their best lives in the face of an ALS
diagnosis. Our goal for this year is to raise $200,000, and while this may be ambitious,
we feel it is certainly achievable with the amazing community surrounding us. With over
$9,000 already raised, we are on our way, but we need your help to reach our target.

These funds are crucial for sustaining and expanding our impactful programs, such as
the Equipment Loan Program, which offers essential support to our community by
providing equipment to those living with ALS at no cost to them. A person living with
ALS will need, on average, five pieces of equipment, totalling around $70,000 in out-ofpocket expenses.

This year, we have five main walks planned, and multiple Family & Friends walks.
Main Walks:

Halifax Walk: June 1st at DeWolfe Park. Registration opens at 11am, and the
walk starts at 12pm.

Saint John Walk: June 2nd at Market Square. Registration opens at 10am, and
the walk starts at 11am.

Cape Breton Walk: June 8th at the New Waterford Fire Hall. Registration opens
at 11am, and the walk starts at 12pm.

Berwick Walk: June 8th at St. Anthony’s Parish. Registration opens at 9am, and
the walk starts at 10am.

Moncton Walk: June 15th at Centennial Park. Registration opens at 11am, and
the walk starts at 12pm.

Family & Friends Walks:
• Inverness Walk: June 1st at the Inverness Raceway. Registration opens at
11am, and the walk starts at 12pm.

We welcome anyone in our community to host a Family and Friends walk. If this
