WASHINGTON, ILL. – Tornadoes tore through swaths of the U.S. Midwest last week, reducing homes to mounds of boards, metal and debris.
Although the powerful system caused damage across 12 states, the Nov. 17 storm devastated parts of Illinois in particular, where six people were killed.

Global News cameraman Marc Doucette travelled to hard-hit Washington, Ill., along with Global National correspondent Robin Stickley, to survey the damage and share the stories of survival.
Upon returning to the Washington D.C. bureau, Doucette compiled footage in the above video.
