Toronto police say a 48-year-old pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the city’s east end on Thursday night.
Emergency crews were called to Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue East at around 8:39 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian-involved collision.
Police said a yellow Jeep Wrangler was heading eastbound on Eglinton Avenue East when a man in his late 40s was crossing the street and was subsequently struck by the jeep.
Paramedics said they transported a man to a trauma centre with serious injuries.
Police said the roads were closed in the area but have since reopened.
