A man convicted in connection with an underground Burnaby dental practice had his court appearance adjourned this morning.

Global News reporter John Daly says Tung Sheng David Wu’s court appearance this morning lasted about three minutes.

Wu asked for an interpreter and the B.C. Supreme Court judge agreed. Court was adjourned for an undetermined period of time.

Wu was brought back to B.C. yesterday after turning himself in to police in greater Toronto. A Canada-wide arrest warrant had been issued for his arrest after he disappeared in May.

He was convicted of contempt of court in absentia and given three months in jail for ignoring a court order to stop practicing dentistry without a licence.
