WINNIPEG — It’s beginning to look a lot like … winter.
For the first time this year, Winnipeggers woke up Sunday to a blanket of snow.
It was a treat for many of the kids in the River Heights area, according to one neighbourhood girl.

“I love making snowballs, snow angels and playing the snow. It’s really fun playing with my friends,” she said.
But the snow isn’t all fun and games, as residents have to shovel their walkways and clear off vehicles.

The first major snowfall also caught a number of drivers off-guard inside the city, causing numerous fender benders.
The Trans-Canada Highway was closed from Headingley to Portage la Prairie for hours,creating long wait times.
The snow began to fall on the evening of Nov. 16, during the city’s Santa Claus Parade.
