A 21-year-old Lethbridge man has been charged with arson in connection with a fire early Tuesday morning.
Just before 4:30 a.m., police were called to reports of a blaze along Riverview Crescent.
The homeowner was able to douse the flames on the front steps of the home and in a garbage bin in the driveway before emergency crews arrived.
The K9 unit was called in to search for the suspect, who was arrested nearby a short time later.
Police say he’s known to the people who live in the home, and this was not random.
Victor Jake Fehr is charged with arson to the property of others, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with a probation order.
He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15.
