PENTICTON — Conflicts between growers and wildlife seem to be going up, so a new series of guides hope to provide people with ways to deal with different scenarios.
There are 8 Living with Wildlife in BC booklets; each one looks at a specific animal: from large mammals to small rodents.
The South Okanagan regional district and Okanagan-Simikameen Conservation Alliance teamed up to pen these guides for those who have contact with wildlife, hoping this will reduce the number of crop loss and property damage.
“So that we can continue to have wildlife as part of our natural diversity and mitigate the conflicts between humans and wildlife,” says Zoe Kirk, regional district program coordinator.
People can also download these manuals online for free.
