Elaine’s March 30 update – Spring is in the air!

There is no excuse for you to avoid exercise!  It’s as easy as lacing on a pair of running shoes and heading out the door.  Walking is the perfect way to get moving.  And as spring really starts full bloom, this also means it’s a good time to start eating lighter and healthier…eat more veggies!

This is a good time for YOU to get started on the road to a healtheir lifestyle.  Scroll through this blog for lots of great tips from personal trainers and dietitians.  And if you have any questions, email me at lifestylechallenge@globaltv.com  I’d love to hear from you!

Here are a few updates from some of our Healthy Lifestyle Challenge applicants:

Owen Moore – Weight Watchers

I have enjoyed every minute and the results are beginning to show – my waist size in my jeans has dropped two inches and now my belt buckle is on its last notch.  I feel a lot better with way more energy and confidence.  I look forward to the exercising throughout the week.  Many people at work have been following Global TV’s Lifestyle Challenge.  Everyday, someone asks me about the program and several people have even joined the local gym at work.

Mark Sampson – GI Diet

Clothes are fitting better and I am running out of notches in my belt.  Not time for a new wardrobe yet but I can wear some of the stuff that has been abandoned on the hangers for years.  The diet is really no trouble to manage.  The portion shock is gone but still having to think about eating five times a day.  Cactus Club have been very good about dressing on the side, holding the cheeses, and steaming the salmon, which I still prefer to packing a lunch. And I’m certainly not experiencing the blood sugar highs and low I used too.

Stacey Dean – Weight Watchers

When I slip into those tight blue jeans and they are not so tight anymore, it makes me feel fantastic!  Well, according to Weight Watchers, I have lost 5% of my body weight.  That was a pretty exciting moment this week. This week, I have also come to the realization that there is nothing that can replace vegetables, I just have to suck it up and eat the 7 serving per day.
