TORONTO — Katy Perry’s hit song “Roar” has been given new meaning thanks to a group of young patients at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in New Hampshire.
The kids teamed up with doctors, hospital staff and family members to produce a lip-dub video of the song.
Three days after it was posted to YouTube, the video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times and has generated more than $650,000 for the hospital.
“Roar” was released in August as the first single from Perry’s latest album Prism. It was co-written by Toronto songwriter Henry Walter.
Perry has said the song is about standing up for oneself.
