Northumberland OPP investigates death near Campbellford

A death investigation is underway in the Municipality of Trent Hills on Monday.

Northumberland OPP say around 6:30 a.m., officers and the Office of the Chief Coroner launched a death investigation near the village of Campbellford.

Police closed a section of County Road 8 between Bradley Bay Road and Catchmore Road, about nine kilometres south of Campbellford.

On Monday afternoon, police say a deceased man was located on County Road 8 alongside a parked vehicle vehicle.

“The death of the male is believed to be non-suspicious, and no foul play is suspected,” OPP stated.

County Road 8 has been reopened, OPP said.

The victim has not been identified.
