The winning ticket in Friday’s $55 million Lotto Max jackpot was sold in Ontario’s capital, according to lottery organizers.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) said the winning $55 million ticket was sold in Toronto and was waiting to be claimed.

A separate encore winning ticket, with a prize of $100,000, was sold in Chatham-Kent, OLG said.

Lottery organizers also said a $70 million Lotto Max jackpot won at the end of June had still not been claimed. That ticket was also sold in Toronto, OLG said.

“OLG reminds players that they can check their tickets from home on OLG.ca,” a media release said.

Prize winning tickets for the Lotto Max draw are valid for one year after they are drawn as the winners.

The jackpot for the next draw on Aug. 9 will be an estimated $13 million.
