RCMP say 15-year-old Hobbema boy died of gunshot wound

EDMONTON- RCMP say a 15-year-old boy who was found dead in Hobbema Saturday morning died of a gunshot wound.

RCMP and EMS were called to a report of an unresponsive male lying in an open area of the Samson Cree Nation shortly after 8:30 Saturday, October 12. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The 15-year-old was identified as Teagan Johnson.

RCMP say officers recovered two firearms over the weekend and are continuing to investigate Johnson’s death.

“We (the RCMP) wish to thank the community for their cooperation as we continue to investigate this tragic event,” said Inspector Charles Wood with the Hobbema RCMP.
