Snowfall hits parts of Manitoba

WINNIPEG – It will be a white long weekend for many people in northern Manitoba.

A heavy snowfall warning was issued for Churchill, Gillam, Thompson, Nelson House and Split Lake Saturday evening.

Between 10 to 20 cm of snow was expected to fall.

A low pressure system moving over northeast Manitoba will bring cooler temperatures and heavy precipitation to parts of northern Manitoba Saturday night and Sunday.

On top of snow, the system will bring strong northwest winds with gusts of around 70 km/h.
