15 and 17-year-old boys in critical condition after Toronto shooting

Toronto police say two teenagers have critical injuries after a shooting in Toronto’s west end.

Const. Alex Li told reporters that multiple gunshots were heard in the Humber Boulevard and Alliance Avenue area. area, upwards of 15 shots.

Police said when officers arrived they found a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds. Police originally said the second youth was actually 17 and not 16 years old.

Both were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There was a large police presence in the area of the shooting and the public was advised to avoid it.

“We are concerned,” Li said a press conference Sunday evening. “The message for the community is to be aware of your surroundings, be cognizant of your surroundings. If you see something, say something. The only way we can help out is you are the eyes and ears in your communities.”
