TORONTO – A man in his 80s is dead after he was struck by a car on Steeles Avenue around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He was the 47th pedestrian killed this year.

There were just 44 incidents in all of 2012.
