Kelowna man pleads guilty to child luring

KELOWNA — A Kelowna man arrested by the BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit has pleaded guilty to luring a child.

Michael Lynn McDonell, 47, was arrested in June and charged with communicating by computer to lure a child under the age of 18.

McDonell returns to court in December for sentencing.

A spokesperson for the BC ICE Unit says they use online undercover officers to identify and apprehend people who target children on the internet for sexual purposes.
