TORONTO — Halle Berry has welcomed her second child — the first with her new husband, French actor Olivier Martinez.
A representative for the 47-year-old actress said the couple welcomed a baby boy on Saturday.
No further details were made public.
The baby was born at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Berry had daughter Nahla, now 5, with Montreal model Gabriel Aubry.
In April, Berry admitted she hadn’t expected to be expecting. “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth,” she said in an interview with CNN. “Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”
The star of films like Monster’s Ball and Catwoman married Martinez, best known for the 2002 movie Unfaithful, in July. She was previously married to singer Eric Benet and baseball player David Justice.
Berry was in Montreal this past summer filming scenes for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past. In 2003, she broke her arm while filming Gothika in Montreal.
