TORONTO — Pregnant Halle Berry is creating the perfect Storm on the Montreal set of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Director Bryan Singer tweeted a photo of the star in character at Mel’s La Cité du cinéma, where the latest chapter in the X-Men franchise recently started filming.

Berry arrived at Montreal’s airport Thursday night wearing a black fedora-style hat and accompanied by a bodyguard.

Over the weekend, the 46-year-old actress, who is expecting a baby with French actor Olivier Martinez, was spotted leaving children’s store Oink Oink in the Westmount neighbourhood with three bags full of goods.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Berry covered her baby bump with a loose-fitting jacket and wore distressed jeans , buckled boots, a paperboy cap and sunglasses.

The star’s five-year-old daughter Nahla was back in Los Angeles with dad Gabriel Aubry, a Montreal native.

X-Men: Days of Future Past also stars Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Canadians Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore. It is scheduled for release in July 2014.

On Saturday, Ashmore was joined by X-men stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan — each wearing Canadiens jerseys — at the Bell Centre to watch the Habs take on the Capitals.

Berry knows Montreal well, having spent time in the city during her relationship with Aubry. In 2002, while filming Gothika, she was rushed to hospital after co-star Robert Downey Jr. accidentally broke her forearm.

The first X-Men movie was filmed in Toronto and two sequels were made in Vancouver.
