A Canadian whitewater kayaker has become an online sensation after a YouTube video of him kayaking 56 kilometres an hour down a drainage ditch in B.C. has gone viral.

Adrenaline-junkie Ben Marr, 27, is no stranger to kayaking giant rapids, waterfalls and whitewater, but his latest video is gaining attention for kayaking down a ditch in Lions Bay, B.C.

The video shows Marr racing down the drainage ditch at speeds of 56 kilometres an hour. At the end of the ditch, he crashes into the ocean without even flipping his kayak.

As of Friday, the YouTube video had more than 364,000 views.

“The Lions Bay Slide is such a good time! Heading back to work after a glorious September, stoked to be posting up footage and photos from the 2013 season,” Marr posted on his Facebook page.
