Mississauga family finds plastic embedded in hot dog

TORONTO – Maple Leaf Foods is investigating after a piece of plastic was found inside a Schneiders hot dog in Mississauga.

Maureen Van Damme was cooking hot dogs and macaroni for her three children on Wednesday. When she began cutting the hot dogs for her children, she found a small piece of black plastic inside one of them.

“I was really surprised, shocked, grossed out and I realized that this was wrong,” she said in an interview Thursday.
