A section of the Trans-Canada Highway in B.C.’s Southern Interior has been reopened to traffic.
Initially, the highway was closed between Revelstoke and Golden on Tuesday afternoon, around 3 p.m., when planned control work resulted in an avalanche coming down and blocking the road.
The avalanche was cleared just after midnight, but planned rock scaling saw a large section of the highway closed again early Wednesday.
However, just after noon, DriveBC reported that the highway was reopened in both directions.
During the closure, an alternative route was available via Highway 95 and Highway 93S.
