CPSC says Graco recalls strollers

Graco’s Passage, Alano and Spree Strollers and Travel Systems are being recalled due to fingertip amputation and lacerations hazards, the CPSC said.

Consumers should stop using the recalled products, which were sold at retailers including Walmart, Target, Toys "R" Us, and other retailers, from October 2004 to December 2009, the CPSC added.

The CPSC said it had received reports of 5 fingertip amputations and 2 fingertip lacerations in children.

Newell Rubbermaid was not immediately available for comment.

In November last year Maclaren USA Inc recalled about one million strollers sold in the United States over the past decade after receiving a dozen reports of children’s fingers being amputated when caught in the stroller’s hinges.

Shares of Newell Rubbermaid were trading down 7 cents at $15.13 Wednesday afternoon on the New York Stock Exchange.
