Pilot of Fort Nelson plane crash escapes with minor injuries

A small plane has crashed in the middle of Fort Nelson, but the lone person on board sustained only minor injuries.

The amateur built, C-Wind 200 crashed on 55th Street, next to the town’s Kal Tire. The plane had an engine failure, which led to an engine fire.

A manger with the Kal Tire told Global News said that the plane could be seen on fire for quite a while before it landed. He added that the Kal Tire was evacuated quickly, and the fire was put out within ten minutes of the crash.
