VANCOUVER – A male Olympic athlete in his thirties from the U.S. was arrested Wednesday for a suspected domestic assault, RCMP said Thursday in a press release.
The man was alleged to have assaulted his common-law partner in the 2300 block of Nordic Drive in Whistler, police said. The male was arrested and later released with conditions on a cash surety to appear in court in North Vancouver on Apr. 21.
Police are recommending charges of assault and uttering threats, the release said. The man’s name has not been released.
