Toronto police say a man is facing a second-degree murder charge and another is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after a man was found dead inside a building in Etobicoke.
Police said they were called to Rexdale Boulevard and Islington Avenue at around 2:46 a.m. Tuesday for reports of a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene and located a man with “obvious injuries,” say investigators.
Paramedics performed life saving measures, but the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have identified the victim as 24-year-old Andre O’Neil Atkinson of Toronto.
On Wednesday, police arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with the homicide.
Jaleem Abdella-Smith has been charged with second degree murder. He is schedule to appear in court on Thursday.
A Canada-wide warrant was also issued for 21-year-old Mohamid Lamin Singateh for accessory after the fact.
On Jan. 30, Singateh was arrested.
Singateh is facing a charge of accessory after the fact.
