Alberta RCMP investigate fatal crash between truck, car in Parkland County

One person was killed in a crash south of Spruce Grove in Parkland County on Wednesday.

According to RCMP, the crash took place around 3 p.m. on Highway 627/Garden Valley Road, west of Golden Spike Road.

Police said a truck and a car collided and “there is at least one fatality confirmed at this time.”

RCMP along with EMS asked people to avoid the area while a traffic analyst worked at the scene.

The crash came hours after the same detachment advised roads were poor west of Edmonton due to steady snowfall on Wednesday.

Just before noon, RCMP said officers were at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 16, west of Stony Plain between range roads 12 and 13.

511 Alberta also said there were several collisions involving multiple vehicles on the Yellowhead near the Highway 43 turnoff.
