MONTREAL — Actress Halle Berry sailed through U.S. customs at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport Monday while thousands of other passengers waited in line, according to media reports.
Ms. Berry, her partner Gabriel Aubry, a Montreal-born model, and their daughter Nahla, 22 months, were escorted through Customs by a uniformed Montreal police officer, and did not have to wait with other passengers, Montreal’s French-language daily La Presse has reported.
Ms. Berry, who won an Oscar in 2002 for her role in Monster’s Ball, was heading from Montreal to Los Angeles on an Air Canada flight.
Freelance journalist Marieve Paradis, who was also on the flight, told the media that Ms. Berry and her family were seated in the front row of the plane.
Spokespersons for the Aeroports de Montreal and the Montreal police department said they would have to check on their procedures that day before commenting on the incident.
The police department could not confirm whether their officer was on regular duty at the time or had been contracted to provide private security for the celebrity couple.
