The motorcyclist died on scene shortly after emergency crews arrived.
There were six people in the mini-van, four were treated for minor injuries at a hospital. They were all treated and released.
Police don’t believe alcohol was a factor. However, they are investigating whether speed on the part of the motorcyclist played a role in the crash.
“We do have witnesses indicting that there may have been some speed. This is part of our investigation. We’ll look into it further and re-interview our witnesses,” says Constable Wevers, Edmonton Police Service.
The traffic investigation forced Victoria Park Road to be closed until midnight.
